Blog Origin : boredom plain and simple on Sunday eve. As they say when u have it why not flaunt it. But simplistic arguments apart, a dear friend in UK asked me to read his blog and that started the thought process whose seeds, an 15 min later u see here. Cutting across right to top, boredom funnily enough seemed most interesting topic to discuss today. Got a female colleagues undivided attention today morning by putting the topic on the table. she started off (PS : a recently married colleague i was meeting right after that life turning event in her life) just rolled off telling me about how boring her job has become and how after her senior colleague would be laying down his papers, she would be saddled with some additional tasks, that came with no extra pay or recognition. And even we talked of how the "younger" ( she was just 26 and am 36) was smarter and go getter, she made me smile after she told of how the same juniors were caught doing a cut and paste job of some articles and of how their boss was highly appreciative of it all till someone spilled the beans by writing a letter to her saying how the articles were straight lifts from the net. WOW talk about smart work, you cant get smarter journos than that. and to think that we lament about loss of energy, of initiative, of enthusiasm and of poor pay..ALL WHILE young guns had it all..no spouse to please, chai and cofee with gf's, weekend parties late into night, visits to concerts and all that..while we had to make sure we arrived in time and left within time to rush home for our familial responsibilities.
A ha that reminds me to rush to hoe now. see u Monday
